A LARGE SPIKE IN THE PRICES OF FOOD NECESSITIES DUE TO LOCKDOWN!


On march 24 the complete lockdown was initiated in our country, all the industries, shopping malls, theatres, cafes, grocery stores etc was ordered to remain close. But to make the flow of necessities undisturbed in the country the government exempted these essential supplies. But the blunder is about to happen ,the lockdown created a panic among the all the population. As all the big supermarkets and stores was ordered to remain close, because of this all the retail shops in the country make the wrong use of this exemption they tend rise the prices.

  • Vegetables inflation stood at 23.6 percent in April 2020 as against 18.63 percent in March 2020. 
  • Inflation in pulses stood at 22.9 percent compared to 15.85 percent the previous month.
  •  Cereals inflation rose to 7.8 percent in April compared to 5.3 percent in March. 
  • Milk and milk products prices rose by 9.4 percent against a rise of 6.47 percent last month.


Data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation on Tuesday showed that food and beverage inflation rose to 8.6 percent in April 2020, compared to 7.8 percent in March.So also on the basis of personal survey there is humble request to please not to buy all kind of essential commodities  from any retail shops.
