FACEBOOK MAY HAVE 275 MILLION DUPLICATE ACCOUNTS GLOBALLY


The one of the largest social networking site "Facebook",has approximately has 2.4 billion active users in a month.There are approximately 269million users in India only.Apart from India Facebook has other leading countries i.e United states of America ,Brazil, Indonesia ,having 190million,123million and 120 million users respectively.

THE VOGUISH FACT:

It has been declared in the latest annual report of the company that Facebook may have 275 million duplicate accounts out of its 2.5 billion monthly active users, it was estimated that Facebook has 5% of fake and duplicate accounts in MAUs(monthly active users).

Reverberations of the case:-

  1. This conditions has created a situation in which there is an increase in the "false accounts"on the site.
  2. Has open the gates for the non human entity accounts like violating accounts, which can encourage the activities like hacking and spamming.
  3. They have violated the FB terms and conditions.
  4. Led to increase in the over involvement in the personal details of a person.

  1. Facebook should strict their policies for the creating new accounts, there should only one account to be allowed at entity.
  2. There should be a regular vanishing of the fake accounts, to avoid the activities like spamming and hacking.
  3. Should ensure the security  of the personal details of the users.
